Detailed information

Product detailed description

TIENS Chitosan is classified as soluble fibre. Like other soluble natural fibres, it is important for the functioning of the digestive tract.

Chitosan and cellulose are the most abundant polysaccharides (complex carbohydrates) on Earth. It is made from chitin, which is found in the shells of crustaceans, insects and in the cell walls of some species of fungi. As a natural compound, it is non-toxic, biodegradable and completely safe for the environment. Therefore, in a broader sense, it is generally used not only in dietary supplements, but also in human and veterinary medicine, cosmetology or biotechnology. Nutritionists call chitosan the sixth, vital element after proteins, fats, sugars, mineral compounds and vitamins.

TIENS Chitosan is made from the shells of red crab legs. It is characterised by a very high degree of chitin deacetylation, up to 85%. The higher the degree of deacetylation of this organic compound, the stronger the biochemical activity of the Chitosan obtained. Therefore, the formula is remarkably effective.

According to scientists, Chitosan has a unique structure because it has positively charged amino groups at the same pH as the digestive tract. Amine groups bind to negatively charged molecules, such as lipids and bile, preventing their absorption and storage in the body.
