The prostate gland, or prostate, is a gland located at the bottom of the urinary tract, below the bladder, surrounding the urethra. The size of a healthy prostate in an adult male corresponds to the size of a walnut and weigh around 20 grams. As you get older, in extreme cases, it can weigh up to 200 grams, which can cause significant complications.

An enlarged prostate can compress the urethra, which can cause a slow start to urination, narrowing of the urine stream, necessitates greater effort when urinating, more frequent and intermittent urination, a feeling of incomplete emptying, urinary incontinence or more frequent need to urinate during sleep.
