About Hericium

Hericium (lion's mane, Hericium erinaceus) is a mushroom with a fascinating appearance and significant medicinal effects. It gets its name from the shape of the fruiting body, which resembles sea coral or a lion's mane.

Hericium is edible and very tasty. It does not have a classic, slightly bitter mushroom taste, but is rather sweet and, in terms of texture and taste, reminds many of crab or lobster meat. Thanks to its unique taste, it is becoming a popular ingredient in the kitchen.

However, Hericium is not only a food, but also a powerful medicinal herb that is used in traditional Asian medicines, especially Chinese. Even the Native American Indians knew of its healing powers - they used powder from this mushroom for disinfection and to stop bleeding from open wounds.

Thanks to many studies and scientific research that confirmed its healing effects, the demand for this mushroom has increased. Hericium is now grown commercially, either outdoors on trees or indoors on hardwood sawdust.

Hericium has a firm place in traditional Chinese medicine, where it is used to harmonise Wei (Stomach) and Pi (Spleen), thereby supporting healthy digestion and balancing the imbalance of Yin and Yang in the body. It helps with conditions that Chinese medicine refers to as "heat in the stomach", and has a positive effect on the psyche, and is used for somatisation of stress. Hericium is also called "natural neuron nutrition" today for its benefits to the nervous system.

Dosage

Standard dose 1 - 3 capsules daily

Take the capsules on an empty stomach (at least 30 minutes before food or 60 minutes after food), drink with water or weak green tea.

Dosage is reduced according to age in children.

When taking vital mushrooms, we recommend increasing your intake of vitamin C, which increases the absorption of active ingredients.
