More about dietary recommendations below.

Testing method

A new, simpler method has been developed to examine the profile of fatty acids in the blood without the need for lipid extraction.

This new method underwent a comparative analysis, which compared the results of taking blood from a fingertip (see picture below) with the classic method of examining a blood count from blood from a vein.

This new method is ingeniously simple: blood is taken only from the finger,

it is allowed to dry and then the sample is analysed.

The test focuses on determining the values of 11 fatty acids, which are listed below.

This new method of examining the profile of fatty acids in the blood has also been approved for dietetic research.

The fatty acid profile in blood lipids accurately reflects the amount of fat consumed in the diet.

Research has shown that this profile is directly related to an individual's health status.

This is because the blood lipid profile shows the types of fats that your body needs to get to all cells and tissues, including cell membranes.

That's precisely why this new method of examining the fatty acid profile in the blood can be applied in dietetic research.

The 11 fatty acids are listed below:

Palmitic acid (PA)

Stearic acid (SA)

Oleic acid (OA)

Linoleic acid (LA)

Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)

Gamma-linolenic acid (DHGLA)

Arachidonic acid (AA)

Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)

Docosapentaenoic acid (DPA)

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

Recommendation:

1. Eat a diet rich in Omega-3 fatty acids.

2. Limit your carbohydrate consumption.

3. As much as possible, include fatty fish, salads, vegetables, nuts and generally organic foods in your diet.
