A device for non-contact temperature measurement with high accuracy in the IR-A range.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

Henex-SCAN is a portable device for use in medical practices - for measuring the temperature of an object in absolute values of 28.0 °C – 38.0 °C with a resolution of 0.1 °C.

Heidelberger Therapie s.r.o. has developed, based on many years of experience, a device for STRD (Scanning Thermo-regulatory Diagnostics) - the henex-SCAN device and Software TRD.

This system evaluates thermal changes in regulatory behaviour in the organism based on mathematical-physical principles, which are one of the earliest manifestations of pathological changes.

The greatest advantage of thermo-regulatory diagnostics is the absolutely non-invasive nature of the examination. Thermo-regulatory diagnostics not only helps in medical diagnostics, but also forms an innovative protective, preventive and, moreover, something in the sense of prognosis. Working with the device is easy and time-saving, and the processing of the information obtained into tables and graphs is very clear. We use a commonly available personal computer to display the evaluated data.

The transfer of measured information between the measuring probe and the device is carried out using Bluetooth or ZigBee devices.

The device is designed to evaluate the patient's thermoregulatory response to changes in the environment. The method is based on the principle of radiation thermography. The examination is performed without contact, without any contact with the skin of the examined person. The use of the method can be expected especially in the diagnosis of some malignant tumour diseases.

The medical device is suitable for use in the provision of health care.

While the transfer of light energy takes place in the visible part of the spectrum from 0.4 µm to 0.75 µm, the transfer of heat by radiation covers the range between 0.75 µm and about 100 µm. All surfaces of bodies that are warmer than absolute zero emit in the infrared spectrum. Very warm bodies also emit in the spectrum of visible light. For example, the heating elements of electric stoves gradually lose their visible red colour as they cool down, but they still radiate heat for some time. However, this radiation is invisible because there has been a shift from the red spectrum. This infrared radiation can pass through various media on its way from the examined body. If this medium is a vacuum, then it does not lose any energy. In practice, however, the medium for most measurements is air, which has almost no effect in the case of short distances.

While classical thermography is a method of diagnostic imaging by determining thermal differences directly on the surface of the body in the diseased area of tissue. STRD radiation thermography uses temperature changes in places that are projections of internal organs with the possibility of reaction to irritation, by means of which it is possible to speci‹ fy processes in the organism and this with a great time lead.

STRD is a method that is based on the possibility of non-contact measurement of thermal radiation from the surface of the human body and its changes, which is ensured by a sensor and registered in a thermal imaging image. Examination of the human radiation field thus makes it possible to look into the state of the internal environment, which ensures and regulates the radiation of this heat. Each individual not only has their own specific radiation, but also their own heat regulation, which reacts to irritation. This fact can then be very useful, especially for diagnostic purposes. Since the 1980s, thermography results have been evaluated using computer technology. The program used is based on a previously used program for thermoregulatory diagnostics according to the Heidelberg model. This program has been reworked and further supplemented.
For perfect isolation of the computer from disturbing signals, the transfer is carried out using Bluetooth or ZigBee devices.

Thanks to the coding filter in the basic device, we can use the henex-SCAN device to measure temperature changes on the surface of the human body with great precision.
