INULIN 150G
Code: JATKUR 009Product detailed description
Inulin stimulates the growth of probiotic bacteria, such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli, in the intestines, which leads to a significant reduction in the number of pathogenic bacteria. This healthy microflora is involved in the production of vitamins B12, K1 and K2, and thanks to supporting the growth of beneficial bacteria, it affects the amount of vitamins produced. Inulin is also known for its effect on improving the absorption of minerals, especially calcium, with some studies showing an increase in calcium intake in postmenopausal women by up to 20%.
During digestion, inulin absorbs water, increases in volume and creates a viscous solution in the stomach, which protects the intestinal walls and slightly reduces acidity. By lowering the pH in the digestive tract and suppressing the growth of certain bacterial species, inulin contributes to reducing the metabolism of bile acids. It also helps lower LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol levels in the blood.
Inulin supports the digestive system and contributes to weight loss by regulating the absorption of carbohydrates and fats in the small intestine. It is also effective in the prevention and treatment of obesity and type II diabetes because it reduces the glycaemic index and puts less strain on insulin secretion. This effect was first described in 1874, when it was found that the urine of diabetics consuming 50-120 g of inulin daily contained no simple carbohydrates. Today, inulin is also used in the diagnosis of kidney function.
Inulin improves intestinal peristalsis, helps prevent tooth decay and has an overall positive effect on the immune system. Thanks to its sweet taste and low energy value, inulin is a popular dietary supplement, ideal for diabetics and people with obesity.
